On Wednesday 4/17, a group of young brothers from Roots got together for a new initiative called Team Shifa (shifa = cure in Arabic). The goal is to gather young brothers and sisters from the community to fulfill the sunnah of visiting community members who are ill/in the hospital. This week, we visited a dear auntie who is getting over pneumonia, the visit lifted her spirits and brought a smile to her face.
Afterwards, we hosted our weekly brothers basketball night at the YWCA downtown.
